Mission Statement

Deafinitely Cooking, Inc. strives to become the world's most successful interactive live internet show. Deafinitely Cooking incorporates verbal and non-verbal communication to teach both culinary techniques and American sign language. The show features both world renowned and amateur chefs demonstrating culturally diverse recipes and skills.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between the hearing and deaf / hard-of-hearing viewers by integrating live streaming video with online chatting. This feature enables viewers to ask direct questions and receive immediate response. Deafinitely Cooking will has revolutionized the wonderful world of cooking and sign language.

About Sahara

I am a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) and I was born in West Virginia. My parents had ten children and I am the 7th child with 6 sisters and 3 brothers. My father was Deaf and my mother was hearing.

I am the mother of 5 sons and a have a degree with honors from MDC interpreting program.

I have many things that I enjoy doing and among these, other than sign language interpreting is the art of cooking. Through the art of cooking, I am able to share my creative side as well as teach the Deaf/hard of hearing cooking techniques. Others who are not deaf or hard of hearing, will learn some basic sign language.

Deafinitely Cooking^(tm) is an idea that I considered starting since the year 2007. The name is obviously a combination of what and how the concept is presented to the public.
